Kagyu Thekchen Ling

/// This monastery was inaugurated in 1990 by Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche III. A year later, it was built on its enclosure, a Shangpa tradition three year retreat center. It was directed in its early years by Bokar Rinpoche.

At present, thirteen years duration studies are imparted to acquire the Acharya title . Over a hundred monks pursuing these studies. Among them Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche. One of his first projects was the construction of a new resident monks housing. The director of this center is Drupon Khenpo Lodro Namgyal.

This monastery is a meeting place for the disciples around the world and, occasionally, teaching programs are organized with the possibility of having the presence of Jamgon Kongtrul Rinpoche.

The monastery is located in Lava town, West Bengal, India, near Kalimpong city and Sikkim and Bhutan border.
